From our director, Hannah:

Our research in this residency has been to approach Shakespeare’s text taking rhythm as a primary point of departure.  Beginning with the premise that the sounds (and silences) of Shakespeare’s language are its meaning, we have improvised around them to generate the material we present in this showing.  This project has been an opportunity to practice and develop a performer training based in the spatial, physical, energetic, and rhythmic connections between us, and it is the first step in what we hope will be a long creative process.  Imagine a full Macbeth with an unbroken back-beat.

Macbeth in Rhythm is directed by Hannah Chodos, and performed by Lindsey Ford, Emmie Nagata, Danielle O’Terry, Ben Weaver, and Drew Woods.
